Principle
This is a dermatological procedure that removes a precise thickness of the outer layer of the skin to regenerate the eliminated layer and to stimulate the lower layers. Skin peels are described by level of penetration.
Gentle skin peels (with glycolic acid) work on acne and restore the skin’s radiance.
Medium and deep skin peels (typically using trichloroacetic acid) act on wrinkles and brown spots, regenerating the dermis at a deeper level.
Skin peels can be performed on all skin types, including Black skin. In all cases, there is a skin preparation phase, a phase of treatment at the doctor’s office, and a phase of flaking and recovery at home. With special recommendation to apply complete sun protection for the two months following the aesthetic procedure.
Results
The results of a skin peel are visible after the first treatment. Skin cell renewal is activated, and noticeable defects are erased. At the superficial level, the dead cells of the epidermis are eliminated and replaced by younger, fresher cells. Depending on the indication, the face will regain a radiant complexion after one or several sessions.
Possible side effects
Flaking and redness will appear at the end of the procedure. A sensation of heat and discomfort will occur during the session, lasting several hours after it ends.
